Luotsi’s strong cooperation with educational institutes offers opportunities to meet with guidance counsellors from various institutes who regularly provide their services at Luotsi. A job agent can help you select a field of study, apply for a school and prepare for the entrance examination. We also offer information on apprenticeship training, internships and other study path options in the journey towards your new career.

Guidance and counselling services for immigrants at Karelia University of Applied Sciences
Karelia University of Applied Sciences offers guidance, counselling, education and workshops for highly educated talent from abroad. The goal is to produce services to promote integration and help immigrants find paths to higher education.

Guidance and counselling service SIMHE-Karelia

The guidance and counselling service SIMHE-Karelia (Supporting Immigrants in Higher Education in Finland) offers personal guidance to immigrants interested in higher education. Those with previous higher education are offered guidance for accreditation of previous education and career planning.

The guidance and counselling service SIMHE-Karelia is for you if:

• you need information on applying for university or university of applied sciences
• you need information on your studying options
• you want to know how to get your previous studies or qualifications accredited/recognised in Finland
• you need help with career planning
• you need more information on Finnish language studies

You can book an appointment for personal guidance and counselling by contacting SIMHE via e-mail to simhe@karelia.fi or filling in this form. A counsellor will contact you and set up an appointment.
SIMHE guidance and counselling is also available without an appointment on Mondays between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at Luotsi Joensuu (Kauppakatu 29).
